Acupuncture and TCM
What are TCM and Acupuncture?
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a powerful, ancient system of Healing that has existed and evolved for over 23 centuries. TCM utilizes Acupuncture, Gua Sha(Connective tissue manipulation), Cupping, Herbal Medicine and working with/strengthening the Energetic Field of the Body through Tai Qi/Breathwork.
It is both a spiritual and medicinal practice that deeply acknowledges the Natural Rhythms and Cycles of Nature and works with Qi (The vital energy that runs through the body), the Five Elements (Metal, Fire, Wood, Earth and Water) and Yin and Yang (Female and Male energies).
When these energies or elements are out of balance Dis-ease expresses itself, or we may be predisposed to various illnesses, destructive behaviors, mental stress, emotional irritability, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, low energy or inability to regulate our nervous system.
When these energies are in balance we experience harmony, strength of Life Force, reduced tension, digestive ease, increased energy and clarity of thought, word and action.
TCM seeks to not make the body or person ‘wrong’ for what is out of balance, but to redirect and release blockages in the system, so a natural flow of Health and Vitality is restored.
